Grief and Bereavement Counselling

Firstly, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry for your loss.

Whether you have experienced the death of someone important in your life, or you’re worried about somebody who has, grief can feel incredibly overwhelming, isolating, and difficult to navigate. If you need someone to talk to, guidance around the many practical next steps after a death, or support making sense of life alongside grief, Grief Connect® offers a space where you can find understanding, connection, support, and hope again whilst carrying your loss.

When to Seek Support

The grieving process will look and feel different for everyone. It’s also important to allow yourself the time and space to mourn your loss. A number of factors will determine whether you might seek external help in coping with your grief. There is also nothing wrong with simply feeling like you need someone to talk to. Speaking to someone who is not emotionally involved in your personal situation can be really helpful.

Through Your Employer

What Counselling Looks Like

Sessions are guided by your needs and your pace, using a person-centred, strengths-based approach. The focus is practical ways to manage grief day to day, alongside how you are actually doing: finding hope, building resilience, and working out what life looks like while you carry your loss.

Help finding other services. After a death, working out which services you need is exhausting on top of everything else. Grief Connect® can point you toward trusted support for legal matters, estates, practical help and daily life after loss.

Online, Australia wide. Sessions happen wherever you are, from the privacy of your own space.

$230 per session. Sessions are 60 minutes.

Counselling is with Michelle Moriarty, founder of Grief Connect® and an Accredited Social Worker (AASW, registration SW-00021595).
