Grief support through your Employee Assistance Program
When someone in your team is bereaved, the support they get in the first few weeks shapes how they come back to work. Many Employee Assistance Programs offer general counselling. Grief is a specialist area, and Grief Connect® specialises in it.

How it works
For employees
If your employer has arranged EAP support with Grief Connect®, you can access grief counselling through it. Speak to your manager, team leader or HR, who can provide a referral.
For managers and HR
You can refer an employee to Grief Connect® directly. Support is delivered online, Australia wide.
Why a grief specialist, and not general counselling
Grief Connect® specialises in grief and bereavement, so your employee does not have to explain what their loss means before the work can start.
Michelle Moriarty is an Accredited Social Worker (AASW) with more than twenty years in practice, and has worked as an Employment Assistance Program Counsellor as well as in children and families, addictions and youth justice. She founded Grief Connect® after she was widowed at 38 with two young children.
What it costs
A standard Employee Assistance Program with Grief Connect® is a package of four sessions at $250 per session.
Need more than four? The package can be extended if required, by agreement with the employer.
Support can usually start two to three weeks after referral. Reports, professional liaison and any other services are quoted according to what is required.
